The Cub Scout uniform is an important part of delivering the complete Scouting experience to your child. Wearing uniforms has been a method of the Scouting movement from the beginning.
There are two types of uniform used in Cub Scouts, the Field Uniform and the Activity Uniform. These uniforms are often called Class A and Class B uniforms.
Cub Scouts also have an age-appropriate handbook to guide them on their Scouting adventures. These books include the requirements for advancement awards and information to help you complete adventures at home with your family.
The Activity Uniform (aka "Class B") for Pack 20 is a purple t-shirt with our pack information on it (Oh, it GLOWS IN THE DARK!). Shirts are available for purchase for $15, contact the pack leaders for more info.
The Field Uniform (aka "Class A") consists of several parts and Scouts are encouraged to wear the full uniform including pants/shorts/skorts and socks. Families may decide to purchase only the shirt, belt, and neckerchief, which is acceptable in Pack 20, as children's bodies may not fit all BSA official uniform items. Uniforms can last for several years, so make sure you purchase a size your child can grow into. Images of uniform parts are shown below for each grade level.
Please consult with pack leaders and the scout shop for patches that will need to be added to the uniform.
Uniforms and handbooks can be purchased at our local Scout Shop:
Champion 1960 Scout Shop
6512 Farm to Market 1960 Rd W, Houston, TX 77069

We recommend having your Scout try on a uniform before having any patches sewn onto it.
4th Graders can wear the blue or tan uniform. We recommend wearing the blue as long as it fits, but if a new shirt is needed we recommend purchasing a tan one.
