If you are attending the Center early with your General Admission, please head out to the Special Events Building in between the plane and the Falcon 9 rocket at 5:00PM.
Being an attendee of one of our Experiential Learning Programs here at Space Center Houston entitles you to free parking. Please be aware that driving into our parking lot will charge any personal vehicle by taking a picture of your license plate. Tickets will be sent to the vehicle’s registration address if they are not paid at the Center. To avoid paying for parking, please do the following if you are driving your vehicle:
Please scan the QR Code at our Check-In tables once you arrive and fill out everything. It will require you to type in your vehicle's license plate number, so make sure to write it down or take a picture before coming inside to speed up the process.
To ensure that your vehicle is not charged, you may create an account on metropolis.io prior to coming to double-check that the validation has worked on your vehicle.
You may ignore this whole section if your group is bringing a bus.
Indoor Sleeping: We are now allowing a return to indoor sleeping! What a great experience to sleep next to flown space artifacts! We will be assigned a location for each group to sleep inside amongst our exhibits.
For indoor sleeping, you will not need a tent, but you will still need to bring your own bedding (sleeping bags, cot, sheets, etc.). We ask that you keep your bedding inside your vehicle until our evening activities conclude. After that, our lead instructor will then direct you to your assigned sleeping location.
Lights Out for Indoor Sleepers will be no earlier than 11:00PM. Please plan for this.
Twin-sized air mattresses are currently allowed. Anything larger than a twin (39 inches x 75 inches) will NOT be allowed.
Should your air mattress be larger than twin-sized, you may be removed from your sleeping area.
Outlets will not be available for everyone at night. Guests who require CPAP machines to sleep will receive priority to them. Portable chargers for phones will be available to rent from our Reliant charging towers throughout the Center.
Note: Reliant Energy customers can rent them for free by logging into their account from the Reliant charging tower.
Outdoor Sleeping: You may choose to opt out of sleeping inside and instead choose to sleep outside under our SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket or our historic shuttle carrier aircraft!
For outdoor sleeping, you will need to bring your own tent as well as bedding.
If you choose this route, please be aware that you will be setting up your tent immediately after checking in.
Offsite Sleeping: You may also choose to attend the program but stay offsite. If this is something you are interested in, please let the lead instructor know before leaving, so that they may prepare for your return in the morning.
Please note that your sleeping arrangements choice was made during your initial registration. If you want to change to another option, please check with the program coordinator as soon as possible via emailing overnights@spacecenter.org.
This program comes with a General Admission ticket for each registrant. You have two options on when to utilize this ticket (selected during registration).
Before Your Event: Use your General Admission ticket before the Overnight Experience. Arrive at Space Center Houston and pick up your Overnight wristbands from the Guest Services desk right inside the center.
If you chose this option, upon arrival check-in with the Guest Services desk at the main entrance. They will have a roster list in order to let you in. Please note, that they may ask for verification of your identity.
You may purchase additional General Admission tickets can be purchased for $12.95 each, should you have family members that wish to join you for your General Admission experience. Additional guests will not be able to stay past 5:45 PM.

If your group is traveling in separate vehicles, make sure all drivers have a way to contact each other.
Always check current weather and road conditions on official state websites.
Beltway 8 is a toll road.
In case of bad weather and road closures on major freeways, there are several alternate routes in the area to choose from.
Remember to search for "Space Center Houston" and not "NASA" or "Johnson Space Center" on your GPS.
Clothing: Comfortable, casual clothes and good walking shoes are recommended.
Remember to bring a jacket or sweater no matter what time of year you are coming. The building often gets cold in the evenings.
Pajamas and slip-on shoes for the evening (shoes must always be worn when walking around the center or outside for safety reasons).
Food/Snacks: Snacks and drinks (non-alcoholic only) may be brought during the evening portion of the event. These must be consumed outdoors or inside our Food Lab.
Luggage: Backpacks, duffle bags, or small roller suitcases ("carry-on" sized) are ideal.
Basic Toiletries: Toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, and hairbrushes are ideal. Wet wipes are a great way to freshen up since we do not have showers.
Charging Banks: Power outlets may not be available to everyone. Charging banks are a great idea and allow you to charge your device without an outlet.
Money: If you would like to purchase an exclusive Overnight t-shirt, or even something from our gift shop (Space Traders) or Food Lab during your general admission, it is recommended to bring some additional money.
Please keep in mind that you will be sleeping near other guests. We ask that you show the same courtesy and respect to them that you would like them to show you.
Things that are prohibited at Overnight Experiences:
Glow sticks (flashlights and phone lights are ok)
Electrical hair appliances (blow dryers, straighteners, curling irons, etc.)
Alcoholic beverages
Unregistered guests
Only registered participants can attend an Overnight Experience.
Chaperones are not permitted to bring any children who are not registered or who do not meet the designated age level for an Overnight Experience.
Overnight-exclusive activities will be spread throughout the center for you and your children to experience and enjoy. These activities will only be available during the evening, so we recommend visiting those before visiting various exhibits as these will be there during general admission.
Adult Role: Your role as an adult is very important during the event. The activities are designed for you to participate with your children and enjoy this unique experience together. Please help them make memories that will last for a lifetime! Education instructors are going to rely on you to participate and be a part of the activities. They will interact with you as well and will get you involved, so "be prepared!"
Two-Deep Leadership: Our policy at Space Center Houston is that a child is never left alone. They are either with one of our instructors, another child, or an adult chaperone. We ask them to find a "Space Buddy" and they are supposed to stay together during the activity portion of the night.
Dinner and breakfast will be provided. No other food will be available at the Center during evening activities.
You are allowed to bring small snacks or drinks for your group. We ask that any snacks or drinks other than water be consumed outside or in the Food Lab where you eat dinner.

It is hard to believe that it is already time to start signing up for the All Salem Outing in July!
In case you are new to scouting, you may not know what this is. Every year, in July, all of the Salem scouting units have the opportunity to participate in a large group outing. This year we will be going to Moody Gardens in Galveston, TX. We will be sleeping in the climate controlled (air conditioned) entrance to the Rainforest Pyramid. https://www.moodygardens.com/attractions/rainforest_pyramid/
The outing is from Saturday, July 13th-Sunday, July 14th. All participants need to be there by 6:15pm. We must be out of the building by 8am Sunday morning. This outing includes guided tours of the pyramid, a pizza snack (2 slices or cheese and/or pepperoni) and a non caffeine drink or bottle of water, and a continental style breakfast Sunday morning. You may also reenter the Rainforest Pyramid Sunday morning at 10am when it reopens to the public. Thanks to all of the units subsidizing costs, the outing is only $45.
We can only have 80 participants on this outing. This is a first come, first serve sign up. The Salem coordinator will send email confirmations every other night (possibly every night) to confirm that your email was received and you are on the list. All participants will need to either need to attend the next pack meeting meeting to pay our treasurer or do an electronic payment via Zelle. (Electronic payment information will be sent later.). If fees are not paid by the deadline (which will be around the end of April/ beginning of May), you run the risk of being moved to the end of the waiting list and the people on the waiting list taking your place. This is an awesome opportunity to spend time with scouting families from other units!
EVERYBODY wishing to attend will email jennifersouthwell6@gmail.com
When you RSVP, please include the following info:
-Scout’s name
-Unit number (Pack 20)
-How many will be attending (include all names and whether they are a scout, adult, or sibling)
-Cell number (for texting closer to the event)
On Saturday, June 22, we will be conducting a Fishing Derby!

All tackle, rods, and other gear is provided(mostly generously donated by the Lakes of Woodtrace Foundation), all you need to bring is a great attitude, sunscreen, and maybe some snacks.
